Had a morning trip with a nice guy from Florida who had never fly fished for trout. We fished in Reno and the fish were hungry. Caught one planter, a few wild fish including a nice 17″ rainbow and missed a bunch of takes. There were a few fish rising early in the morning. The guy was thrilled that he caught any at all since it was his first time. FIsh were holding in 3-4 feet of water below riffles and were eating anything that looked like a Little Yellow Stone nymph. Water was about 59 degrees and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
