Pyramid Report – April 29th

Fished with a couple of Dads and their 12 year old son (Connor) and 15 year old daughter (Lindsay) at Pyramid today.  Fishing was tough for the most part.  Connor managed to catch 3 or 4 on mahalo nymphs under an indicator.  Lindsay caught the one fish we landed on a sinking line all day.  Both were exceptional anglers for their ages and fished virtually the whole time from 6:15am to 3:00pm. The Dads also fished hard …….. and got skunked.  They were very excited for the kids however and everyone had a good day.  We fished a couple of beaches from Rawhide Lookout to the south for most of the day.  When we went up to the North Nets at 1:30, there was not a single fisherman in the water.  Unusual for this time of year, but certainly a product of the tough fishing conditions.  Connor caught another fish there just for good measure!!!  I am beginning to doubt if the fishing is ever going to truly turn on this year.  We shall see.     Dave
